Richard Johns – IT programmes
Forty–eight–year–old Richard Johns lives in Bristol and is a Technical Author. In his spare time he enjoys DIY, playing badminton and playing the piano.
Richard was recently made redundant and whilst searching the Internet for job vacancies he came across vision2learn. As he had a keen interest in the Internet and website development, Richard opted for one of vision2learn’s interactive media courses.
When asked what appealed to him about studying with vision2learn, Richard told us:
"The whole vision2learn online learning concept was ideal for my lifestyle. I could fit studying around family commitments and I never had to travel further than my living room"
"I also found that learning this way allowed me to improve my time management skills."
Richard was really keen to learn more about creating and developing his own website. He explains:
"I wanted to gain a better understanding of networking, website development and management servers and vision2learn provided the opportunity for me to develop my skills and knowledge from my own home."
As well as learning new skills and improving his Internet knowledge Richard thoroughly enjoyed his experience of learning online. He told us:
"Online learning is so convenient. I found I was able to complete my work when I had some spare time and if something cropped up I could leave it and return to it later."
"I also found online learning to be free of the general pressures associated with classroom learning and you don’t have to travel to a college to attend classes."
