Elly Ingram – Mastering Business and Administration NVQ
Elly Ingram is 23 years old and lives in Herefordshire. She works in a nursing home and in her spare time enjoys travelling and keeping fit.
Elly was looking for flexible learning courses and discovered vision2learn via a search engine – she hasn’t looked back. Elly had already completed a vision2learn IT programme when she signed up for vision2learn’s Mastering Business and Administration NVQ.
Completing this course is not only an excellent addition to Elly’s CV, but has helped her understand and carry out more effectively the tasks involved in her job. She said, "When I started my new job I decided that I needed to learn a bit more about administration, as that is my official job role."
The NVQ course has been invaluable for Elly, and her skills continued to develop after she had completed it. She had previously focused primarily on one area of her role and, in her words, "guessed the rest", but completing this course gave Elly an all round understanding of the tasks associated with administration.
Elly much preferred studying online to classroom learning, she told us, "It meant that I could access the course from work and at home. It seems easier to email assignments to myself so I can finish them another time, or to my tutor for marking. You don’t have to worry about any delays."
Elly had such a great experience with vision2learn that she recommended it to others the minute she completed her first course. She said, "I enjoyed my first course so much that I immediately told my mum and boyfriend to sign up. They are now both doing vision2learn IT qualifications."
Although she now prefers online learning to studying in the classroom, Elly still found the course just as challenging and her tutor was always on hand to offer words of advice and encouragement. She said, "My tutor helped me through the assignments and pointed out the learning outcomes which I had missed out, or fallen short on. Sometimes I found it hard to find examples where I had used the techniques in real life, but her suggestions soon got my brain going."
Elly told us she wouldn’t hesitate to enrol for another course with vision2learn. She added: "The courses are so easy to follow and very enjoyable."
